How much do new solar screens cost?
Solar screens cost, on average, approximately $200 per window. This includes the cost of the materials and labor for building and installation.
In Las Vegas, the savings on your electric bill pay for the solar screens after a few years. The 90% screens that we offer provide a greater UV reduction leading to more savings.
If you already have solar screens and you need them rescreened, then it’s about half the price.
How much money will I save on my energy bill?
Solar screens reduce the temperature of your home by up to 15%. In a Las Vegas summer, that’s an average of up to 15 degrees cooler. This means you won’t have to use your AC as much to cool your home. The actual dollar amount is difficult to say because it depends on many factors. But you can save up to 30% on your AC bill. In Las Vegas, that’s significant. On average, solar screens pay for themselves after only 1 or 2 summers.
Another factor to remember is that by using your AC less, you’ll be increasing the unit’s lifetime. This results in money savings as well.
How long does it take to get the screens installed?
On average, it takes approximately 5 days between accepting the estimate and installing your solar screens. In the summer months, this can change because of demand. But on average, it never takes more than a week.
Will my home be too dark after getting my solar screens installed?
Solar screens are designed to reduce heat mostly. There will be a reduction in light, but the screens allow light to pass through. So no, your home will not be too dark.
In addition, there are two types of solar screens. The two types block 80% and 90% of solar heat. The 90% will allow less light, so if darkness is a concern, it would be wise to go with 80%. The good thing, too, is that 80% is cheaper than 90%. So you can even save some money.
Can I take my solar screens off myself?
Yes. Solar screens are installed to be easy to take off. Some people decide to do this in the winter months when the screens aren’t needed as much. If you have a two-story and we installed the screens, just give us a call and we’ll come by and remove the screens for you.
Is there a buy now pay later option?
Yes! We do offer the option to buy now and pay later. With us, you have the option of making up to 12 interest fee payments over 12 months.
How does payment work for the solar screens?
If you’re getting new screens installed, then once you accept the estimate, you will pay a 50% deposit. This allows us to purchase the materials for your screens. Once the job is complete, the remaining 50% is due.
However, we do have buy now pay later options. See the question above to get more information about that.

Will my HOA allow me to have solar screens?
We have yet to find an HOA that does not allow solar screens. We know what the HOA regulations are, and we build solar screens to ensure that they fit with the regulations of HOAs in Las Vegas.

Can I only get a few windows screened?
Whether you get solar screens for all your windows or just some of them is up to you. The heat reduction, though, will be much greater if you buy screens for all the windows. And the better the heat reduction, the greater cost savings you will find over time.
What manufacturer do you use for the screen material?
Phifer screens recently have been having some issues with deteriorating quicker over time, so we have moved to Twitchell screen products.
When is the best time to install solar screens?
We find the cooler months to be the best time to install solar screens. Prices increase in the summer months because the demand is so high.
